Mariner’s Village

Mariner’s Village is a 172 apartment complex for families located at 6847 Potomac Street in the Skyline-Paradise Hills neighborhood.

The property consists of 12 two-story residential buildings and an administrative center. Constructed in the mid-1980s, San Diego Housing Commission (SDHC) purchased the property in 2010, maintaining its affordability for families earning no more than 80% of the area median income. In January 2020, using the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), Housing Development Partners purchased the buildings, with a long term lease of the land from SDHC. As a new LIHTC property, affordability will be restricted to families earning no more than 60% of the area median income. Starting in 2020 HDP will complete a comprehensive interior and exterior rehabilitation of Mariner’s Village, including upgrades to the property’s building systems, balconies, patios, new windows, new kitchen cabinets, countertops, flooring, bath fixtures, and exterior painting. The property includes one, two and three bedroom apartments ranging in size from 657 sf to 974 sf. Amenities include an in-ground pool and garages, with patrolled security and controlled gating.
