Village North Senior

Village North Senior is a 120-unit, garden style property located at 7720 Belden Street in the Clairemont Mesa community.

The apartments were originally built in 1986, and operated as a market rate development until SDHC’s purchase of the property in 2015, which restricted the units to senior occupants at 80% of area median income.

In late 2017, HDP acquired the property via ground lease from SDHC, in order to secure funding for a much needed renovation to the property. Renovations to the units included: all new kitchen and bathroom fixtures and tubs; removal of acoustic ceilings and new paint and flooring throughout; refinishing and repairs to balconies; upgrades to HVAC or fans in the units; and the addition of several new accessible units.

Exterior and common areas included: new exterior paint; landscape upgrades; new furniture and finishes in the community room, including a new computer nook complete with equipment and printer; laundry room upgrades; security cameras; path of travel and parking lot resurfacing; and an accessible path to the community garden.
