HDP’s portfolio serves San Diego’s diverse affordable housing needs by providing apartments for seniors, families, workers and special needs tenants.

Since inception, HDP has developed over 1,709 units of affordable housing within the City of San Diego.


Constructed in 1913, the three-story Mason Hotel along Fifth Avenue was being transformed into a modern, 17-unit single-room occupancy development in the heart of downtown San Diego.

Casa Colina Del Sol is a 75-unit development that serves low income seniors and disabled persons in the City Heights neighborhood of San Diego.

Courtyard Terraces is an 88-unit development in the City Heights neighborhood of San Diego offering one-and-two-bedroom apartments to low-income seniors.

Island Village is a mixed use building with 280-unit single room occupancy units located in the East Village neighborhood of downtown San Diego.

Knox Glen is a 54-unit property on Logan Avenue in Lincoln Park that was acquired and developed by HDP in 1996. The property provides two-three-and four-bedroom units affordable to families.

New Palace Hotel is an 80 unit low rise studio apartment building located in the Banker’s Hill neighborhood of downtown San Diego.

Parker Kier is a 34 unit building providing studio and one bedroom apartments in the Banker’s Hill neighborhood of downtown San Diego.

Studio 15 is a 275-unit single room occupancy development located in the East Village neighborhood of San Diego affordable to low-income persons.

San Diego Square currently provides 154 affordable apartments for seniors and two manager’s units in Downtown San Diego.

SDHC and HDP partnered to renovate the historical Hotel Churchill, creating 72 affordable studios for homeless individuals or those at risk of homelessness.

Mariner’s Village is a 172 apartment complex for families located at 6847 Potomac Street in the Skyline-Paradise Hills neighborhood.

West Park, located at 1830 4th Avenue in the Banker’s Hill neighborhood, is a low rise building, providing 47 SRO and studio apartments.

Quality Inn is a 92-apartment low rise building providing SRO and studio apartments. The property is located at 1840 4th Avenue in the Banker’s Hill neighborhood (just north of Interstate Route 5 on 4th Avenue).

Village North Senior is a 120-unit, garden style property located at 7720 Belden Street in the Clairemont Mesa community.

Town & Country Village Apartments is a 143 unit affordable apartment complex designated for families in the Mountain View area of San Diego located at 4079 Mesina Dr. San Diego,CA 92113.
